If you've priced cabinet design software lately, you've noticed the monthly number is the only one anyone wants to show you. Ninety-five dollars here, a hundred and twenty-five there. Small enough to sign for on a Tuesday afternoon, and easy to forget you're still paying it in 2031. That's the point. Cabinet design software cost in 2026 is almost entirely a subscription question, and subscriptions are priced to look cheap by the month and expensive over the life of a shop.
So we ran the arithmetic nobody in this industry puts on a pricing page: what Pro100, Mozaik, KCD, Cabinet Vision and 2020 Design Flex actually cost after five years, where the break-even point falls, and the three cases where renting genuinely is the smarter buy.
Quick answer: Most cabinet design software in 2026 is sold by subscription, ranging from about $95 to $295 per month or $599 to $2,745 per year. A perpetual one-time license such as Pro100 costs $3,144.99 once. Over five years, a typical $125/month subscription totals $7,500 — more than twice the cost of a one-time license, and the subscription stops working the day you stop paying.

How cabinet design software is priced in 2026
There are three pricing models in this industry, and the difference between them matters far more than any single feature.
Subscription (rental). You pay monthly or annually for access. Stop paying and the software stops opening. Most of the market has moved here: Mozaik, KCD's rental program, 2020 Design Flex from Cyncly, and SketchList 3D all operate this way.
Perpetual (one-time). You pay once and own the right to run that version indefinitely. Upgrades to future major versions are optional and separately priced. Pro100 and PolyBoard use this model.
Quote-based enterprise. No published price. You book a demo, a rep scopes your shop, and a number comes back. Cabinet Vision and Microvellum sit here. Third-party comparisons commonly place Cabinet Vision above $5,000, though the vendor does not publish figures.
2026 cabinet design software price comparison
| Software | Pricing model | List price | Cost after 5 years (1 seat) | Cost after 10 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro100 | One-time perpetual | $3,144.99 once | $3,144.99 | $3,144.99 |
| Pro100 + Kray renderer | One-time perpetual | $3,444.95 once | $3,444.95 | $3,444.95 |
| SketchList 3D | Annual subscription | $599.99/yr | $2,999.95 | $5,999.90 |
| KCD Software (rental) | Monthly subscription | from $95/mo | $5,700 | $11,400 |
| Mozaik Manufacturing | Monthly subscription | $125/mo | $7,500 | $15,000 |
| 2020 Design Flex (Cyncly) | Annual subscription | $1,945–$2,745/yr | $9,725–$13,725 | $19,450–$27,450 |
| Mozaik CNC / Enterprise | Monthly subscription | up to $295/mo | up to $17,700 | up to $35,400 |
| Cabinet Vision | Quote only | not published (reported $5,000+) | quote-based | quote-based |
Figures are simple multiplications of published list prices and exclude tax, price increases, add-on modules and extra seats. Vendors raise subscription prices; a one-time license price cannot be raised after you have paid it.
The break-even point: when does buying beat renting?
This is the number that actually decides the purchase. Below is how long it takes for a $2,549.99 one-time Pro100 license to cost less than each subscription.
This is the number that actually decides the purchase. Below is how long it takes for a $3,144.99 one-time Pro100 license to cost less than each subscription.
| Compared against | Annual subscription cost | Pro100 breaks even after |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 Design Flex (top tier) | $2,745/yr | 14 months |
| 2020 Design Flex (entry tier) | $1,945/yr | 19 months |
| Mozaik Manufacturing | $1,500/yr | 25 months |
| KCD rental | $1,140/yr | 33 months |
| SketchList 3D | $599.99/yr | 63 months |
Against every mainstream competitor except the lowest-cost entry tool, Pro100 pays for itself in under three years. Everything after that is money that stays in the business.
Put it in shop terms. A cabinet shop running a $125/month subscription is spending $1,500 a year roughly the material cost of one mid-size kitchen on software access it will never own. Over a ten-year working life, that is $15,000: a new sliding table saw, an edgebander, or a year of a part-time installer. The same decade of Pro100 costs $3,144.99, once.
The costs the price page doesn't show you
Extra seats. Subscription pricing is per user. Mozaik lists additional seats at $60/month each, so a three-person design team runs $245/month — $2,940 a year. Pro100 licenses on a physical USB dongle key instead: you may install the program on as many PCs as you like, and the software runs on whichever machine has the key plugged in. A designer can work from the office desktop on Monday and a laptop at the client's house on Tuesday with no license transfer, no seat management, and no extra fee.
Price increases. Subscription pricing is not fixed. Mozaik users publicly reported a jump from roughly $50 to $95 per month in January 2023 an increase of about 90% on an existing subscription, applied to long-term customers with no grandfathering. That risk is structural to the model. A perpetual license you have already paid for cannot be repriced.
Access loss. The most under-appreciated cost. When a subscription lapses a lost card, a slow quarter, a dispute you lose access to your own project files. A perpetual license keeps opening whether or not you renew, whether or not the vendor is still in business, and whether or not you like their new pricing. For a shop that needs to reopen a five-year-old kitchen file to build a matching pantry, that is not a small thing.
Mandatory trial periods. Some vendors have removed the free trial entirely. Mozaik requires a three-month paid trial before you can commit, which automatically converts to a one-year subscription unless you cancel. Pro100 offers a free demo version to download and evaluate before any money changes hands.
Support and training. Pro100 includes a 60-minute onboarding session and free updates with purchase; additional training after the first six months is billed at $75/hour. Most subscriptions bundle support into the recurring fee which sounds better until you realize you are paying for it every month for ten years whether you call or not.

When a subscription is genuinely the better choice
An honest comparison has to include the cases where the other guy wins. There are three.
You design only a few jobs a year. If you touch the software twice in a quarter, a rental you can stop and restart on demand may cost less than any perpetual license. KCD's program is explicitly built for this and applies part of your rental toward a purchase later.
You are a showroom retailer selling branded, catalogued cabinet lines. If your business is specifying manufacturer SKUs from live catalogs rather than building custom boxes, 2020 Design Flex's catalog integration is built for exactly that workflow and Pro100 is not trying to replace it. Pro100 is built for shops that make cabinets.
You run high-volume nested-based CNC production with ERP integration. Cabinet Vision, Microvellum and Mozaik Enterprise are engineered for factory-floor throughput, drip-feeding jobs to multiple machines and multi-designer collaboration. If you are running two shifts on three routers, that tooling earns its price. If you are a shop of one to fifteen people, you will pay for capability you never open.
Outside those three cases, the math points one direction.

How to evaluate cabinet software without wasting a month
- Calculate your five-year number first, not the monthly one. Multiply the monthly price by 60. That is the real figure. Compare it against a one-time license before you look at a single feature.
- Design one of your actual past jobs in the demo. Not the vendor's sample kitchen — a real job you already built, with its awkward angled wall and its odd filler. You already know the correct answer, so you will spot where the software fights you.
- Generate a cut list and check it against your build. If the parts list does not match what you actually cut, nothing else about the software matters.
- Price the same job in the software's costing module. Compare it to what you actually charged. Job costing that is close to your real numbers is worth more than any rendering engine.
- Ask what happens to your files if you stop paying. Get the answer in writing.
- Add up the seats you will need in three years, not today. Per-seat subscriptions scale against you as you grow.
Frequently asked questions
How much does cabinet design software cost in 2026? Cabinet design software costs between roughly $95 and $295 per month on a subscription, or $599 to $2,745 per year on annual plans. One-time perpetual licenses such as Pro100 cost $3,144.99 with no recurring fee. Enterprise systems like Cabinet Vision are quote-only and commonly reported above $5,000.
Is there cabinet design software without a monthly subscription? Yes. Pro100 is sold as a one-time purchase at $3,144.99 with no subscription, licensed on a USB dongle key. PolyBoard also offers a perpetual license. Most other major packages Mozaik, 2020 Design Flex, SketchList 3D and KCD's rental program are subscription-only.
Is one-time cabinet software cheaper than a subscription? Over any period longer than about two years, yes, in most cases. A $3,144.99 one-time license breaks even against a $125/month subscription in 25 months and against a $2,745/year plan in 14 months. After five years the one-time license costs well under half the equivalent subscription.
How much does Cabinet Vision cost? Cyncly does not publish Cabinet Vision pricing; it is sold by quote based on modules, seats and CNC integration. Independent industry comparisons place entry configurations above $5,000, with production configurations considerably higher.
How much does Mozaik cost per month? Mozaik Manufacturing is listed at $125 per month following a required three-month paid trial, with additional seats at $60 per month. Higher CNC and Enterprise tiers are reported up to $295 per month.
Can I use cabinet design software on a Mac? Most professional cabinet software, including Mozaik and Cabinet Vision, is Windows-only and requires virtualization on a Mac. Pro100 runs on Apple silicon Macs through virtualization and has been tested on current M-series machines.
How many computers can I install one license on? This depends entirely on the licensing model. Subscription products license per seat, so each designer needs a paid seat. Pro100 licenses on a physical USB dongle, so you may install the software on unlimited computers and run it on whichever machine holds the key.
What happens to my designs if I cancel my subscription? With subscription software, the application stops launching when the subscription lapses, and your project files typically cannot be opened without it. A perpetual license continues to run indefinitely, so archived jobs stay accessible for as long as the computer runs.
The bottom line
Software pricing in this industry has drifted toward rental because rental is better for the vendor. It produces predictable recurring revenue and it makes leaving expensive. For a cabinet shop, the incentives run the other way: you buy machinery once, you own it, you depreciate it, and it keeps cutting parts in year twelve.
Design software should work the same way. Pro100 is $3,144.99, once. No seats to count, no renewal to budget, no risk that next January's price increase decides what your software costs. Download the demo, design a job you have already built, and check the cut list against your own numbers.
Cost is only half the decision. We also wrote about the setup problem that decides whether a shop keeps its software — the question of whether you can make it build cabinets your way.
